Oh, what an honor it was to watch, witness and photograph Somaly Mam from the
documentary Half the Sky this past Friday evening at KPCC is Pasadena.
Half the Sky is a four hour PBS broadcast creating awareness and turning
oppression into opportunity for women worldwide!
I had tears in my eyes with each photograph I took as I listened to Somaly Mam so graciously talk about her experience as a twelve year old sex slave in Cambodia
and all she is doing to save young women and girls from this same experience.
In the past 7 years, Somaly Mam has rescued over 7,000 young women and girls from sex trafficking in Cambodia. I cannot stop thinking about the smile on Somaly's face as she talked about the importance of love, forgiveness, positivity and strength.
All aspects of life I hold so dear to my heart!
I am forever moved by this courageous woman and more inspired than ever by her words and strength!
I am in love with life and all those in it.
