This past weekend I shifted my surroundings from Long Beach (where I’ve lived the past 7 years) back to Oceanside (where I grew up) to live at my parents house for the next 5 months before my departure to Tanzania. Upon my arrival with two car loads full of my belongs, I was handed a pile of mail and the first package I opened was my WorldTeach welcome packet complete with my manual, a teach yourself Swahili book and my signed acceptance letter. I then dug deeper into my pile of mail to find three separate checks from two family members and my best friend all to go towards my fundraising efforts! What an AMAZING feeling!
A feeling of being honored overcame my body, which was immediately followed by excitement, where tears of joy then followed and eventually back to a peaceful calmness.
It is moments such as this one on Saturday where I know how truly blessed and fortunate I am to have so much love and support from the community that surrounds my existence every day.
The universe has given me numerous signs over the past couple months assuring I am in the perfect place in my life – listening to my intuition and following my dreams!
I am so truly thankful for the opportunity and journey that is beginning to bloom quite vibrantly!

Living & Teaching abroad in Mafia Island, Tanzania
In June of 2012.... a dream came true.
I was accepted into a WorldTeach program to teach English in Tanzania on Mafia Island. In late December of 2012, I embarked on a 3 month journey to the motherland! Enjoy this blog as it was designed to share my photographs and adventures while living and teaching
on Mafia Island, Tanzania.
