Remember my stories last week when I said I cried at tonight’s session and cannot wait to share more! Well friend, this is that very session.
My once clients of whom I documented their wedding three years ago, now dear friends asked me to do one of the greatest honors, document their gender reveal. Carly and I had been chatting for weeks, talking about props, outfits, lighting, location, all the baby goodness, you get it.
A few weeks before the session, it dawned on me that I didn’t know if they knew the gender or not and if we were just doing the pictures.
I messaged her to ask. Of which I received a reply that made me squeak. They were finding out the gender of their baby AT THE SESSION.
It would be the two of them and ME! Holy hell, talk about an honor.
After giving lots of hugs and rubbing her belly, we made our way onto the beach and started getting set up. I looked at them, “I am so nervous, my legs are shaking.” The nervousness wasn’t coming from taking the pictures, it was coming from all the excitement, the realization that those I get to share such monumental moments documenting, truly become family.
Seeing as I take photographs, I knew this needed to be documented, with a video. I saw this lovely soul sitting on the beach, I looked at her and sincerely told her what was about to happen and asked if she would record it on my phone. She happily did!
It couldn’t have been more perfect! Carly and Dave, I am in awe of your commitment and dedication in bringing your little man into this world! I cannot wait to watch that belly grow and meet him soon! Thank you for such an honor of getting to witness and document this time in your lives!
