I arrived. Dress on. Camera in hand.
The tables were set.
The flowers freshly arrived.
The sun starting to peak trough the morning grey clouds.
The details arranged perfectly.
The excitement was truly present and heightened.
I spent sometime before everyone arrived, documenting the minute details.
That of these plates, the personalized flowers, meal cards, gifts, cheese and bread boards and speciality drinks.
It was calm. It was happy. It was vibrantly thought trough.
Then, Susanah arrived.
A pristine white dress with a beautiful thick brown belt accenting her ever so slim waist.
Her smile, said it all.
To be surrounded by the people she loves, just a week before she walks down the aisle and says I do.
This bridal shower filled my heart as I stayed nearly the whole time witnessing and documenting
the moments that would make up some of the last of her having a fiancé, as in five days her partner was to become her husband!!

I opened. I read. Chills ran throughout my entire being.
This, this is why I am doing what I am doing.
This is why I wholeheartedly love my passion of a profession.
"This is a special trip for our family - we're returning to the same house we were at in 2015.
At that time I was going through chemo, my oldest son had just graduated college and my youngest son had just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Now, 2 years later we are returning to celebrate our family & God's blessings.
Since our last trip my oldest son got married, our daughter and son in law blessed us with a 3rd grandchild,
and I am in remission."
I immediately replied, "Yes, I am available and yes, I would be more than honored to document this very special time in all your lives."
We picked the perfect date and time, the location known as it was the vacation rental they were staying.
Thursday, during the golden hour, that was the date, that was the time.
Monday was overcast, Tuesday overcast, Wednesday overcast. Universe, please give us some sun.
Thursday morning, overcast. Thursday afternoon, thank you.
The sun was shining, a warmth was in the air, there was a special glisten to everyone and thing the sun touched.
Our session, my was it beautiful.
This very family was so warm, so welcoming, so sincere, so incredibly beautiful both inside and out.
We spent an hour and a half during the golden hour documenting this monumental time in all their lives!
I left, my heart, gratefully full.
This family session was a very powerful reminder of sharing photographic exchanges.
Each and everyone is a little different.
Each and everyone teaching me something so vibrantly new.
Each so very inspiring!
Her smile, it says it all.
What a day this wedding was.
Ah, it was so peacefully calm, smooth, stunningly beautiful and filled with so much laughter.
You see, I've had the honor of working with these two souls utilizing my tool of a camera during both their engagement and business portraits (they're the extremely talented and passionate duo behind Arc of life Chiropractic) and as a result, we've formed a joyous friendship and trust.
So, as their wedding day approached, it just all felt natural and vibrantly meant-to-be.
Watching Ivan prepare to see Sabrina, Sabrina to see Ivan,
the support of the bridesmaids and groomsmen,
the luscious backdrop of vibrant blooming flowers and greenery,
the appreciative family.
It was all quite simply, perfect!
Ivan and Sabrina, thank you for creating the space to document so many life enhancing moments for the both of you throughout the past year!

Her excitement, heightened.
Her enthusiasm, euphoric.
Her communication, that of friends.
Her love, so playfully fun.
Her adventurous spirit, one that I am so very down for.
My goodness, the initial communication points were with that of just the lovely lady you see here, but the day we shared a photographic exchange documenting formal wedding portraits and then heading right into the trash-the-dress, it all came together as I witnessed both of them together.
As we were concluding the wedding portraits, I told them, we would "ease" into the trash-the-dress part, taking it slowly.
I think I lied to them.
Okay, no. I actually lied to them.
As we neared a corner, the coastline as the backdrop, the waves close and personal, I asked them to kiss
and boom, all the sudden, this massive wave was ever so present, encompassing not just them, but me too.
I hunched over my camera, grabbed my phone out of my back pocket, they grabbed each other and we ran to safer grounds.
Ah, it was such a rush.
We dried ourselves off, and my, was that just the beginning.
We made our way back up the beach, playing in the water and ultimately ending right here, nestled under the pier.
The lighting, perfectly timed.
Their excitement, just right.
The waves, cooperating.
These two, the best!
Ah, thank you sooooooo much for such a fun session! ⠀
